Deputy Minister of Highways, Higher Education and Investment Promotion Eran Wickremaratne says that they have been unable to establish a United National Party government as yet.

The Deputy Minister made this statement when speaking at a public meeting in Avissawella. The Minister said that the change made on January 8 was “the President.”

He said:

Yet, we have not been able to establish a UNP Government. During these 100 days we have carried out tasks which no other government had done. There are some tasks that need to be carried out. Therefore, people are awaiting for those tasks to be fulfilled.

He further stated that the government has not been able to do so because of an act of sabotage. He said there is a need to establish a new government. Also a need to dissolve Parliament. He stated that on January 8 it was a silent revolution that made Maithripala Sirisena the President.

In conclusion, he stated that there are some who are trying to sabotage this silent revolution. He stated:

Mahinda Rajapaksa is steering some from the background. Can they stop this silent revolution ? The people are wide awake. You cannot expect anything from the incumbent parliament.

The Deputy Minister made this statement during a meeting of UNP activists in Avissawella.
